TNUA’s academic body is made up of 6 colleges, including Music, Fine Arts, Theatre, Dance, Film and New Media, and Cultural Resources, as well as the General Education and Common Education Committee. Under the schools, there are total of 9 departments, 1 post-degree degree program, 16 master degree courses, 3 master’s co-op courses, 1 master’s degree program with all English courses, and 5 PhD courses make TNUA the first art university in Taiwan covering all areas of fine arts and culture. Teachers and students are active in related fields and stages locally and internationally, the achievements of the performances draw great attention around places. The cultivate academic talents for art research are the most important institutions of highest art education in Taiwan.

School of Music

School of Music, including Department of Music (Bachelor, Master, PhD, Co-op), Orchestral and Percussion Research Institute, Musicology Institute, and Department of Traditional Music (Bachelor and Master), is committed to tutor outstanding talented people as its main purpose. With a complete first class education system, diverse teaching environment, and various exhibition facilities, students are provided with a comprehensive learning pipeline.

School of Fine Arts

Under the guidance of multi-talented instructors, The School of Fine Arts has brought up numbers of young talented artists demonstrating explosive creativity unleashed for many years. We not only witness the profound potential of Taiwan’s contemporary art, but also continue to lead Taiwan’s contemporary art to the international stage. The School offers training in creative work, theoretical discourses and others. With curriculum emphasizes interactive communication and cross-disciplinary integration, the school fosters students’ broad humanistic vision and professional competence at the same time.

School of Theatre Arts

The School of Drama uses “professionalism, innovation, and excellence” as the role model for educating, creating, and researching. It fosters students to evaluate both the Eastern and Western, tradition and modernity, thoughts and techniques, and theory and practice. Through professional and academic training from either Undergrad, Master, or PhD Program, students will possess the skills and ideals to discover the direction of contemporary theater and create new era for Taiwan’s contemporary drama and theatre.

School of Dance

In School of Dance we utilize both Eastern and Western style of body vocabulary as the basis for exercise, and cultivate students’ independent cogitation to create their own techniques. In addition to participating in the various exhibitions and productions, students will conduct international exchange studies and expand their professional depth from the classic masterpiece performances and communication activities of the professionals. In order to enrich the performance experience and lay the foundation for employment, the “Focus Dance Company” of the quasi-professional dance group is performing on and off campus, and the results were remarkable.

School of Film and New Media

Founded in 2009, the school brings together film, new media art, animation film creation expertise, and a variety of forward-looking technologies linked to industry trends, with excellent interdisciplinary education and industry-university collaborative research and development capabilities. The direction of the three departments is to inject new strength into the development of film culture and creative industries, to integrate the fields of humanities and art with cutting-edge technology, and to cultivate professionals in animation creation and industrial production.

School of Cultural Resources

Founded in 2002, School of Cultural Resources currently has 6 teaching units and is based on the trends and needs of domestic and international cultural development. At the same time it cultivates talented people with both theory and practice, including research on intangible and tangible cultural assets. Those trends include traditional cultural techniques, local folk art, monuments and community life planning, as well as cultural and art management, and art education and innovation. It is important to implement the humanistic concept and social practice in the art study.

School of Humanities

In order to achieve the ideal of holistic education, the school’s General Education Committee develops 5 major areas such as humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, equipments, and art knowledge in accordance with the characteristics of the school. It is hoped that through the “people-oriented” humanities general education, students will gradually be lead into the exploration and growth of the human mind, and then cultivate a keen mind. Recognizing themselves and others, and properly grasp the relationship between people, society, and nature.

IMPACT Music Program

After finishing the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Music Degree (IMPACT Music Program) is a practical, experimental, and pioneering degree program for students who wish to continue learning. It is a new learning platform with combination of open-minded academic vision, cross-disciplinary concept, and professional application practice to carry out high-quality and systematic modern and popular music educations. It cultivates talents with cross-border artistic innovation and integration capabilities, and also link the development trend of international modern music education.
